Construction has topped out on the precinct named Constitution Place, a new business, hotel and hospitality precinct in Canberra.
The building is expected to revitalise the inner-city region of Canberra with vibrant new facilities, restaurants and community spaces.
Construction was able to proceed throughout the COVID-19 lockdown period with a heavy emphasis on the health and wellbeing of the construction workers through stringent protocols, including onsite temperature testing in a bid to proactively stop any outbreaks slowing down construction.
This allowed hundreds of workers to maintain employment through a challenging time for the ACT economy.
Construction is back on track for completion by the latter half of 2020.
It is predicted that Constitution Place will enhance commerce and bring vibrance to the nation’s capital as people come to enjoy it’s a range of new food and beverage outlets in an activated Melbourne style laneway.
Richard Snow, Head of Property, Canberra Airport, said the Capital Property Group was excited to be able to see the project through its next major milestone.
“In a competitive commercial property market Capital Property Group has always had a focus on a quality architecturally driven product that enhances people’s journey through the built environment”.
“That’s why Constitution Place has already been so desirable for government, corporate, and hospitality tenants.
“This gold-rated WELLs and 5-star NABERS energy rated precinct, with stunning views over the city and lake, sets a precedent for all future development in Canberra city – and we can’t wait to share it with all of you in the Canberra community.”
